The Pittball Festival was started as a tribute to the brother of one of the organisers who
sadly took his own life after suffering for many years from a depressive illness. Each year
the festival raises money to assist organisations working in many areas relating to
mental health care.

The Pittball
The Pittball is a music festival held at Thorncombe, nr. Chard on the closest Saturday to the 13th of June every year. It raises money for Mental Health Charities in Somerset and surrounding areas. The 4th Pittball was the first year we actually made a profit! which just goes to show how much the organisers have put into the first 3 events, financially and emotionally. All the money that was raised was given to the Somerset Partnership Trust.

The Pittball will return on June 12th this year.

About Thorncombe
The Parish of Thorncombe lies in the north-west corner of Dorset, bordering both Devon and Somerset. It is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The Parish is over 5200 acres in extent and is principally agricultural land. It forms part of the district of West Dorset. There is a population of about 700 – about half of which live in the village of Thorncombe, and the rest in the hamlets of Holditch, Hewood, Synderford and outlying farms and houses.

The Pittball DVD 2008!
Picture Box Productions covered the entire weekend shooting the bands, behind the scenes activity, and all the fun from the crowd!

DVD's are available now, and can soon be purchased through this website, with all proceeds going to charity.
